Founder & CEO of SalaryTea
Natalie Brooks
Natalie Brooks has a background in electrical/computer engineering and computer science. She is currently pursuing her master’s in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics at Johns Hopkins University and graduated with an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland. With a passion for both technology and finance, Natalie founded SalaryTea to empower small businesses and freelancers with simple, user-friendly financial management tools. Her technical expertise, combined with her skills in data analytics, gives her a unique perspective on creating innovative solutions that simplify bookkeeping, track expenses, and provide powerful forecasting insights.
Natalie is also a participant in the Fast Forward U incubator program at Johns Hopkins, where she’s dedicated to scaling SalaryTea and further developing its financial forecasting capabilities using advanced data analytics. Her mission is to provide accessible, low-tech tools that help small business owners make informed financial decisions and achieve long-term success.
Outside of leading SalaryTea, Natalie is passionate about mentoring future innovators, exploring the intersection of AI and finance, and contributing to initiatives that promote financial literacy.

Racheal Ssentongo
Racheal Ssentongo is a co-founder of SalaryTea and a passionate mechanical analsysis & design engineer who graduated from the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. Driven by her commitment to improving financial literacy for small businesses and freelancers, Racheal helped launch SalaryTea, a startup focused on providing accessible and intuitive financial management tools. Her dedication to financial empowerment aligns with SalaryTea’s mission to simplify bookkeeping and financial forecasting for users with little to no accounting background.
In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavors, Racheal gained valuable experience as the Mission Systems Lead for the Design Build Fly competition and worked as a Teaching Fellow for the Aerospace Engineering department at the University of Maryland. She has also been an active member of the Theta Tau Professional Engineering Organization and the National Society of Black Engineers since 2019.
Racheal’s unique combination of engineering expertise and passion for financial literacy drives her efforts to make a meaningful impact in both the technology and financial sectors.
